Murcia weekly weather forecast March 17-20: Wet and chilly once again
Yet more rain is expected in this wet March we’re having, but we could have a couple of nice, sunny days this week
It’s yet another week of rain and storms in the Region of Murcia, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), but as yet there have been no weather alerts issued and the rain should be fairly gentle and persistent – exactly the kind of precipitation we need for the farms and the reservoirs rather than the gushing torrents of two weeks ago. Bless the rain!
For Monday March 17, Aemet forecasts “very cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall” and thunderstorms in the early afternoon. There will be “variable light winds… moderate in the Campo de Cartagena and light in the rest of the Region,” and also misty and foggy patches in the west and centre of the Region, around Lorca, Totana and Caravaca. This Monday will also be quite chilly, so be sure to wrap up warm.

On Tuesday 18, daytime temperatures will rise somewhat but it will still be below 20ºC, while minimums at night descend by a couple of degrees. More stormy and rainy conditions are expected all day long, but clearing up towards the evening.

Currently, the Aemet forecast for Wednesday 19 – which is a regional bank holiday or ‘festivo’ in Murcia – is for “cloudy skies” with “morning mists and fog” but no rainfall, or only a very slight chance of rain.
It’s the same on Thursday 20, with only some cloud cover forecast and no rain, and temperatures creeping up a little again. Minimums at night-time will be between 7 and 10ºC in the north of the Region and 11-15ºC in the south, while daytime maximums will be around 20-23ºC.

Looking further ahead, there may be more gentle rain and another slight dip in temperatures on Friday 21 and over the weekend, but this forecast could always change.

- Tuesday March 11: Min 6ºC; Max 19ºC
- Wednesday March 12: Min 5ºC; Max 21ºC
- Thursday March 13: Min 7ºC; Max 23ºC
