Murcia weather September 28-October 1: Cloud and showers return

Temperatures will be warm across the Region of Murcia this week, but cloudy skies and a few showers will make it feel more autumnal, particularly inland

Autumn may have arrived, but temperatures are still reaching the low 30s in parts of the Region of Murcia. But the weather will be a little more unsettled over the next few days, with cloudy skies and some light rain possible, particularly in the inland mountains. Let's have a look at the daily breakdown.

Monday September 28

Monday will be cloudy across the Region of Murcia, with light rain possible in inland areas. Temperatures will be fairly similar to the weekend. Caravaca de la Cruz will reach 26°C, while Yecla and Lorca will reach 28°C. Cartagena will reach 29°C, with Murcia city remaining the warmest of the five locations at 31°C.

Minimum temperatures will range from 13°C in Caravaca de la Cruz to 21°C in Cartagena. Lorca will drop to 19°C, while Murcia city will have a low of 19°C and Yecla 14°C.

Winds will be light and variable.

Tuesday September 29

Tuesday will start with some cloud in inland areas, which could bring a little light rain. Skies will become cloudier again during the afternoon, with more light showers possible in the inland mountains.

Temperatures will rise inland, with Murcia city reaching 33°C. Cartagena and Lorca will both reach 30°C, while Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla will reach 29°C.

Minimum temperatures will range from 12°C in Caravaca de la Cruz to 20°C in Murcia city. Cartagena will drop to 20°C, while Lorca will reach a low of 16°C and Yecla 15°C.

Winds will be light and variable, becoming southerly during the afternoon.

Wednesday September 30

Wednesday will be cloudy again, with the possibility of occasional light showers, particularly in the mountains of the north-west during the afternoon. Temperatures will rise a touch, with Murcia city reaching 33°C and Lorca 33°C. Cartagena will reach 31°C, while Yecla will reach 31°C and Caravaca de la Cruz 29°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 13°C in Caravaca de la Cruz to 20°C in Cartagena. Murcia city will have a low of 19°C, while Lorca will drop to 16°C and Yecla to 15°C.

Winds will be light and variable, although they could occasionally become moderate from the northeast along the coast.

Thursday October 1

Thursday will be the most unsettled day of the period, with very cloudy skies, showers and thunderstorms likely in the inland mountains during the afternoon. Temperatures will still be quite high, with Murcia city reaching 33°C. Lorca will reach 31°C, while Cartagena and Yecla will both reach 31°C. Caravaca de la Cruz will reach 29°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 14°C in Yecla to 22°C in Murcia city. Caravaca de la Cruz will drop to 15°C, while Lorca will have a low of 17°C and Cartagena 22°C.

Winds will be light and variable.

So, while temperatures are still firmly in summer territory in some parts of the Region, the cloud and showers will give the week a more autumnal feel.
