Heat alerts continue as Andalucía heads into another hot week: Andalucía weather forecast August 3-6

High temperatures will continue across much of Andalucía this week, with the Costa del Sol expected to remain under heat alerts before conditions gradually become a little more comfortable

August is getting off to another hot start across Andalucía, but this week's forecast tells two very different stories depending on where you are.

While parts of the Mediterranean coast will begin to feel the benefit of cooler westerly winds as the week goes on, inland areas are set for intense heat, with temperatures climbing to 40C in Córdoba by Thursday.

So, while some parts of the region may finally get a little relief from the relentless summer heat, others will still be reaching for the air conditioning. Here's a day-by-day look at what to expect across Andalucía:

Monday August 3

The week begins with plenty of sunshine across Andalucía, although there will be some cloud at times and a slight chance of early morning drizzle in the far west. The hottest conditions will once again be along the Costa del Sol, where Málaga is expected to reach 39C, while Seville and Córdoba both climb to 36C, Granada to 35C, Jaén to 34C and Almería to 33C. Cooler conditions continue along the Atlantic coast, with Cádiz reaching 27C and Huelva 31C. Moderate to occasionally strong westerly winds are expected along the Mediterranean coast and through the Strait of Gibraltar.

Tuesday August 4

Tuesday brings little change, with sunshine dominating across the region once again. Málaga remains the hottest provincial capital at 39C, while Córdoba reaches 37C, Granada 36C, Jaén and Seville 35C, and Almería 31C. Temperatures will be much more comfortable along the Atlantic coast, with Cádiz expected to reach just 26C.

Wednesday August 5

By Wednesday, the contrast between the coast and inland areas becomes even more noticeable. While temperatures continue to fall along the Mediterranean coast, with Málaga dropping to 36C and Almería to 30C, the heat begins to build inland. Córdoba is forecast to reach 38C, Granada 37C, Jaén and Seville 36C, while Huelva climbs to 33C. Cloud and patches of mist are also possible along parts of the eastern Mediterranean coast later in the day.

Thursday August 6

Thursday brings the biggest contrast of the week. While Málaga falls sharply to 30C and Almería to 29C, the intense heat shifts inland, with Córdoba forecast to hit 40C, Granada reaching 38C, Seville 38C and Jaén 37C. Sunshine will continue to dominate across much of the region, although some cloud may develop over the north-eastern mountains during the afternoon.

Although there'll be a little relief for some coastal areas later in the week, it won't make much difference inland, where temperatures will remain typically hot for August.
