Alhama is ready to step into the festive season with music, lights and lots of tradition
The highly anticipated 2025 Christmas programme of events for Alhama de Murcia is finally here and packed full with exciting events and activities for the whole family.
Running from November 30, 2025 to January 6, 2026, this year’s calendar is one of the town’s most extensive yet, bringing together cultural events, religious traditions, sports activities, charity initiatives, guided tours, markets, music and plenty of magic for families and visitors alike, both in the town centre and throughout the surrounding districts.
ALHAMA
Sunday November 30
6pm - Christmas lights switch-on. Musical performance, Christmas greetings and Christmas performances by the boys and girls of the Alhanza and Paso Academies.Location: Atrium of the Church of San Lázaro.

5pm - Arrival of the royal pages in Alhama. The page procession will parade through the streets of Alhama. Upon arriving at Calle Fuente Blanca, the pages will collect the children's letters. Organised by Archconfraternity of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth.

11.30am - "More Music with Divertimento Alhama". Students from Divertimento Alhama will perform piano and violin pieces, as well as a lively Christmas carol, showcasing their progress and the joy they experience through music. Plaza de Abastos (Market Square). Organised by Divertimento Alhama.

30th annual Christmas window display competition
All Alhama businesses are welcome to participate. Window displays must be open to the public from December 9 to January 6. The jury will visit the participating businesses on Tuesday December 16.
Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st place: €300, 2nd place: €250, 3rd place: €200, 4th place: 24 prizes of €50.

EL BERRO
The El Berro Women's Association, El Abedul and the El Berro Residents' Association are organising the First Christmas Façade Decoration Contest. Registration will be open from December 15-20.
On December 21, the jury will visit the participating façades and the winners will be announced on December 27 during the Christmas bingo event at the cultural centre.

12.30pm - The Three Kings will deliver gifts to all the children. Community Centre.
Sunday January 11
9.30am - 5th annual "La Costera" family mountain hike. A family mountain hike, organised by teams, with no fixed number of participants per team. Gather your family or friends and come spend a different kind of morning. The hike is non-competitive; the organisers will provide a map and lunch. Teams will depart every three minutes.
Approximate distance: 4-5 km.
Registration: information will be posted on social media.
Organised by Aacho Team and the La Costera Neighbourhood Association.

Alhama de Murcia Tourist information office is located on the edge of the Plaza de la Constitución, just a few metres away from the underground car park and the Town hall of Alhama de Murcia.
The tourist office offers free guided audiotours in English which take visitors around the historical sites of interest in Alhama. These be loaned at any time, although allow an hour and a half to complete the tour, and when loaning the audio equipment visitors are asked to leave passports or ID cards with the tourist office.
The office also carries a full range of leaflets for the archaeological museum of Los Baños, which is built around the historic spa which gives Alhama its name, and the mountains of Sierra Espuña, which is also an important area within the municipality of Alhama. Areas such as El Berro and Gebas have a number of interesting routes which can be followed and there are several picnic areas and good walking routes within the Sierra Espuña natural park.
The tourist office also carries leaflets for the many cultural events and fiestas which take place in Alhama throughout the year, including Los Mayos, Semana Santa, Christmas,the Romería of La Candelaria and the Auto de los Reyes Magos in El Berro.
