Sail Cartagena Bay with Raquel Tours: A three-hour catamaran adventure from your Murcia resort door
Music, sea breezes and a swim in the Mediterranean, all within easy reach of your resort this summer with Raquel Tours Murcia
If you're based at one of Murcia's golf resorts and looking for a day out with a difference, Raquel Tours Murcia has something really special on offer. Their catamaran excursions around Cartagena Bay are back for the summer season and with comfortable return transfers laid on from your resort, the whole thing couldn't be easier to organise.
The trip itself lasts three hours on the water, departing from Cartagena's historic marina, one of the oldest port cities in Spain with more than 2,000 years of history behind it. You'll sail past the port's lighthouse and ancient military forts before dropping anchor for an hour to swim or sunbathe in the open sea.
On the return leg, it's all about relaxing with music, a cold drink and the Cartagena skyline in the background. Every passenger also gets a complimentary snack pack on board, and it's worth holding onto the packaging because each one carries a number that goes into a raffle with prizes, so there's plenty to keep the good mood going on the way back.
Drinks and additional snacks are available to buy on board at reasonable prices and if you fancy making a full day of it, you can opt into a lunch or dinner at one of the seafront restaurants in Cartagena's old town after docking, where fresh fish, tapas and paella are all on the menu.
Transfers included from your resort
Pickup points include Hacienda del Álamo Golf Resort, La Torre Golf Resort, El Valle Golf Resort, Altaona Golf Resort, Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort, Mar Menor Golf Resort, Santa Rosalía, Roda Golf, La Serena Golf, Corvera Golf Resort and Murcia city, with other pickup locations available on request.
The journey to Cartagena takes around 45 to 60 minutes, making the total excursion around five hours from door to door.
The details
Trips run on selected dates from May until the end of October (weather permitting), with departures every Friday in August and September. Friday trips throughout October are also planned subject to weather.
Prices are €49 per person and €39 for children up to 12 years old, with a minimum group size of 10.
The price includes return transfers and the catamaran excursion with insurance. Drinks and meals are not included but are available as add-ons.
One of the things that really sets Raquel Tours apart is the languages their team works in. Tours are guided in English, Dutch, Flemish, German, French, Italian and Spanish, meaning that whatever your nationality or background, you'll have a guide who can talk you through the history, culture and sights in your own language. It's a small detail that makes a big difference, especially for mixed nationality groups, and it's one of the reasons they're such a popular choice for couples, families and groups of friends alike.
To book or find out more, send a WhatsApp message to +34 602 362 594 or visit RaquelToursMurcia.com. Spaces are limited so it's worth getting in touch early, especially for the summer dates.
Getting to Murcia
If you're flying in for a trip like this, Corvera Airport (Murcia International, RMU) is the most convenient option for most visitors, particularly if you're staying near one of the Region's golf resorts, thanks to quick arrivals and an easy check-in process.
Raquel Tours has put together a handy flight comparison tool covering routes from the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and beyond, so you can find the best available fares for your dates.
Where to stay
For anywhere to stay in the Region, from golf hotels near the top courses to beachside spots in Mazarrón or La Manga, or something more central in Murcia city, Raquel Tours also has a handy accommodation guide to help you compare your options and find something that suits your trip, whether that's the coast, the golf courses or the warm year-round climate that draws people to the region in the first place.
Please note that the catamaran excursion is operated, insured and managed by a licensed third-party maritime provider in Cartagena. Raquel Tours provides transportation and coordination services.
