Over 500 people at the annual Full English Breakfast in the fiestas of Roda
The international community of Roda Golf contribute to the fiestas in honour of the Virgen de los Remedios
The English breakfast supplied by residents at Roda Golf every year has fast cemented itself as a hugely popular event within the fiestas of the village of Roda, and this year was no exception as over 500 people gathered to enjoy the Full English along with sausages, bacon, fried eggs, baked beans and mushrooms.
It is often said that British cooking has little to recommend it, but that certainly didn’t seem to bother local Councillors Alba Sánchez, Sergio Martínez and María José Bernal as they surrendered to the temptations of the tasty dishes on offer. All of them thanked the international community for making this effort an addition to the fiestas which celebrated the patron of the village, the Virgen de los Remedios, highlighting the efforts they make from 8.00 in the morning onwards (although, to be fair, the photos suggest that Sra Sánchez skimped rather on the beans...)!
The fiestas program continues until Sunday, when the figure of the Virgen de los Remedios is carried in procession through the streets of the village and a sardine barbecue is prepared: click here for further details!
