November 20 Screening of Lost in Translation in original version at the Town Hall of Los Alcázares
The Sofia Coppola classic continues the latest season of Cineforum screenings in Los Alcázares
The Asociación Eco Cultural de Los Alcázares and the Culture department of the Town Hall have launched another “Cinefórum” season of classic cinema screenings consisting of a selection of 4 great movies during the autumn of 2026.
The season continues at 18.30 on Friday 30th October with “Lost in Translation”, directed by Sofia Coppola in 2003 and starring Bill Murray as an aging movie star who travels to promote a brand of whisky in Japan, where he meets another US traveller, played by Scarlett Johansson. This is a far from conventional romance, set as it is against a background of cultural displacement as the two westerners are, effectively, lost the moment they step out of their hotel.
It was nominated for 4 Oscars, winning one for Sofia Coppola for Best Screenplay.
