November 10 Street market and cultural events and tours in Mula
The Portón de la Placeta market in Mula coincides with three guided tours and the annual outdoor painting competition
The “Portón de la Placeta” street market in Mula on Sunday November 10 coincides with a host of activities, including the 17th annual “Ciudad de Mula” open-air painting competition, children’s workshops and numerous free guided tours.
This event embodies the intention in Mula of combining shopping with culture, heritage and the identity of the town, as well as encouraging residents to take part in activities often thought of as being aimed only at tourists and visitors.
Among the events scheduled are the following:
10.00 to 14.00: The market stalls offer their wares in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
10.30: Guided tour of the Roman villa of Los Villaricos, participants to meet at the site itself. Online registration can be found here.
11.30: Children’s painting workshop, registration at turismo@aytomula.es.
12.00: A free guided tour of the Moorish origins of Mula, starting at 12.00 in the Placeta del Castillo. Click here for further information.
12.00: A separate tour begins at the Convento de San Francisco, also home to the tourist office, taking in the most representative historic sites and buildings in the town and ending with a vermouth aperitif. The cost of the tour is 4 euros (payment in advance via Bizum) and registration is available online here.
For further details contact the local tourist office at the Convento de San Francisco (telephone 968 661501, email turismo@aytomula.es).
