Local and national bank holidays in the Region of Murcia this April
Alongside Holy Thursday and Good Friday, towns including Ceutí, Jumilla, Murcia City, and Blanca have extra local holidays this April

As today is April 1, it's a good time to take a look at the bank holiday days in the Region of Murcia this month. April is packed with holidays, and it can be a bit confusing because the days off are not the same in every town.
The main holidays are Holy Thursday on April 2 and Good Friday on April 3. Both are national bank holidays, so most people in the Region have these two days off work. With the weekend added, it gives a four-day break.
Some towns also have extra local holidays. On April 6, Ceutí, Fortuna, Jumilla, and Villanueva del Río Segura will have a day off. Abarán, Las Torres de Cotillas, and Murcia celebrate on April 7 with their local festivities. Blanca marks a holiday on April 10, and Ulea on April 30. These local days are official non-working days in each town, giving residents the chance to enjoy a longer break.
Looking ahead, there are more holidays to keep in mind later in the year. After April, the next national holiday is May 1, Labour Day. In June, the Region of Murcia celebrates its own day, the Día de la Región, on June 9, which is a regional holiday observed across all towns. Other fixed national holidays, such as August 15 for the Assumption, October 12 for the National Day, and of course December 25 for Christmas, round out the calendar.
April is a busy month for days off across Murcia, and it’s worth checking your town’s calendar if you are planning trips or just want to enjoy some extra time at home. And as it's April 1, don't forget to watch out for those April Fools' pranks!
