La Casa de Cultura Emilio Sáez Caravaca de la Cruz

La Casa de Cultura Emilio Sáez Caravaca de la Cruz

The exhibition centre and public library are both within the Casa de Cultura

La Casa de Cultura de Emilio Sáez is located inside one of the most important and historical buildings of Caravaca de la Cruz, located on the site of the former Hospicio de los Jerónimos, a hospice founded in 1581, and moved to this location in front of the Templete in which the Cross of Caravaca is bathed each year during the May Fiestas of the Santísima y Vera Cruz.

In 1835 the building ceased to fulfil this function and in 1994 was converted into a Cultural Centre, named after the historian Emilio Saéz.

There are three different levels in the centre, hosting a multitude of different uses:

The ground floor holds the municipal archive, Salón de Actos and a study room. The second floor holds the municipal library and municipal offices.

On the third floor is a multi-use sala and study rooms.

Address:

Plaza del Templete

Caravaca de la Cruz

Tel 968 705 682

Library opening hours:

From Monday to Friday throughout the year 9am to 2pm and 4pm to 9pm
