July 22 D.K. Harrell and Marcus Miller at the 2025 San Javier International Jazz Festival
A rising star of the blues and an established great on the electric bass at the open-air auditorium of Parque Almansa in San Javier!
TICKETS FOR THE 27th SAN JAVIER JAZZ FESTIVAL CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE HERE
The last night of the 2025 International Jazz Festival is, as you might expect, a big one, with a concert featuring two truly great musicians!
First on stage is D.K. Harrell, one of the greatest talents to emerge in American blues in the last decade. His début album, "The Right Man on Little Village," became the second most-played blues album on US radio in 2023, and the following year he was named "Best Emerging Artist" at the prestigious Blues Music Awards. The way he has burst onto the blues scene follows the tradition and style of legends like Albert King and, most notably, B.B. King, his great role model.
A magnificent guitarist and great composer, this young talent from Louisiana has aroused the admiration of blues greats such as Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby Rush and Susan Tedeschi, and there is no doubt that the closing night of the 27th edition of Jazz San Javier will be a memorable date in his career.
Line-up
D.K. Harrell: guitar and vocals
Andrew Moss: bass
Orlando Henry: hammond B3 and keyboards
Brandon Jackson: drums
Russ Bryant: saxophone
Dan Isbell: trumpet
If D.K. Harrell is an emerging star, then Marcus Miller has for many years been lighting the path for the young man to follow! Returning for his fourth visit to Jazz San Javier (he previously played in the 8th, 10th and 22nd editions!), he is now recognized as one of the greatest virtuosos of the electric bass of all time, mastering the instrument like few others as well as playing the saxophone, bass clarinet, guitar, and keyboards.
A recognized composer and producer, he produced three albums for Miles Davis and has played bass on more than 500 albums, with artists such as Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Eric Clapton, Luther Vandross, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Wayne Shorter, The Crusaders and Elton John. Marcus Miller is a giant of music and a true gentleman of jazz, who has left his mark not only in his magnificent albums but also in many of the best recordings with some of the greatest stars from around the world.
The full line-up is pending confirmation.
This final concert in the 27th edition of the San Javier Jazz festival begins at 21.00 at the open-air auditorium in Parque Almansa in the centre of San Javier. Tickets are priced at 40 euros.
