Heat alerts issued and calima on the way: Murcia weekly weather forecast June 23-26
Get ready for temperatures of 38ºC or more in Murcia this week!

Murcia weather forecast, Tuesday June 24
The lightning storms seem to be done for now in Murcia, which is just as well since last week they caused no fewer than 14 wildfires in just one afternoon.
Instead, the weather forecast for this week, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), is for uniformly sunny and hot conditions, with the possibility of some high cloud cover and calima dust.
For Monday June 23, Aemet forecasts “skies with cloudy intervals of medium and high clouds” and “variable light winds, tending to easterly in the central hours of the day, occasionally moderate”. Notably, it will be incredibly hot, with the Agency issuing heat alerts between the hours of 1pm and 9pm for temperatures up to 36ºC in the Campo de Cartagena area and up to 39ºC in central Murcia.

These high temperatures look set to continue pretty much all week, though Aemet have decided not to issue yellow alerts on Tuesday 24 because it will drop down to highs of only 37ºC. Minimum temperatures at night all this week will not drop below 19-21ºC.
On Wednesday 25, Aemet warn of the “slight presence of airborne dust,” meaning that air quality will likely be reduced. They also note that minimum temperatures will remain unchanged while “maximum temperatures decrease on the coast and increase inland,” but don’t let that fool you. It will still be up to 30-33ºC along the coast and 35-38ºC inland.
Of course, all these temperature predictions are given for how hot it will be in the shade, meaning that anyone out in the sun will have a much higher dose of UV.

Murcia weather forecast, Wednesday June 25
For Thursday 26, Aemet no longer says there will be “airborne dust,” but rather “clear skies” with “temperatures unchanged or rising”. So basically, more hot, sunny and dry conditions that are currently forecast to continue into the weekend.
